Dino Morea

Dino Morea Biography
Dino Morea’s was born in Bangalore to an Italian father and Anglo Indian mother. He has two brothers. He attended and graduated from St. Josephs College in Bangalore and also went to Army Public School, Bangalore and Bangalore Military School.

He was first noticed when he was modeling for a fashion company, and he soon received his first film offer.

Dino Morea’s first movie was Pyar Mein Kabhie Kabhie (1999) with Rinke Khanna. The movie performed averagely at the box office. After a special appearance in Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000), he starred in a Bhatt production Raaz (2002) which was a big hit.

Later he delivered lot of flop films which includes Baaz: A Bird in Danger (2003), Rakht: What If You Can See the Future (2004) and Chehraa (2005), Aksar (2006) and Holiday (2006).

In Dus Kahaniyaan (2007) which was a collection of ten short films, did an average business at the box office.
Personal Life:
Dino Morea was dating model turned actress Bipasha Basu then he dated Lara Dutta for some time but none of his relationships worked for a long period of time.

Prem Chopra Biography
Chopra was born in Lahore on 23 September to Ranbirlal and Rooprani Chopra. He was third of six children they had. After partition of India, his family moved to Shimla, India where he was brought up. His father desired that Prem be a doctor.

He graduated from Punjab University. He is 6'2" in height. Chopra married Uma, and they have three daughters: Rakita, Punita and Prerana. Punita is married to actor, Vikas Bhalla, while Prerana Chopra is married to actor, Sharman Joshi.

Career

Chopra joined the newspaper The Times of India in Mumbai in the late 1950s. He kept trying to get a break in films, and in 1962 got a Punjabi film Chaudhary Karnail Singh , the film won a National Award and got Prem noticed. Among his early films he played Sukhdev in Shaheed, one of his rare positive leading roles. After Teesri Manzil and Upkaar he was flooded with films as a villain. After Upkaar in 1967 he left The Times of India.

He has ever since been a leading villain in Hindi films. The dialogue "My name is Prem, Prem Chopra" from the film Bobby has been very popular. Another famous Prem Chopra dialogue is "Mai wo bala hu jo sheshay se pathar ko todtee hai" which closely translates to "I am that trouble which crushes stones with glass". Of late, he has started taking comic and character roles too. He had a good career spanning 35 years and was popular for villain roles in Bollywood.

Akshaye Khanna was born on 28th March 1975 in Mumbai, India to actor Vinod Khanna. He has an older brother Rahul Khanna who is also an actor who has worked in movies like Bollywood Hollywood. Khanna took up a course in acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute before starting his career in movies with Himalaya Putra.

1997 to 2000 Akshaye Khanna’s debut was Himalaya Putra (1997), his father Vinod Khanna’s production followed by J.P.Dutta’s Border (1997) and Mohabbat (1997). While Himalaya Putra failed, Border was a success and won him the Filmfare Best Debut Actor Award.

2001 to 2004 He did full justice to his role in Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai (2001) as the sensitive and reserved artist Siddarth who falls in love with an older woman. His performance won him the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.

Abbas Mustan’s Humraaz (2002) saw him in a negative role as Karan, scheming with his girlfriend to rip off a rich guy. His other releases were Hungama (2003), LoC Kargil (2003) and Hulchul (2004) which were pretty average.

2005 to 2009 While Shaadi Ke Pehle (2005), Naqaab (2007) and Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) failed to deliver, his portrayal of Harilal Gandhi in Gandhi, My Father (2007) won him the Best Performance Award at the Australian Indian Film Festival.

In 2008, he played younger brother to Saif Ali Khan in Race, which did pretty well. He was also part of the comedy Priyadarshan’s Mere Baap Pehle Aap, playing a matchmaker to his widowed father.

In 2009, Khanna made a fleeting appearance in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance and will be seen in One Way Ticket and Shortcut – the Con is On.

The cameras love the fresh-faced, delectable Amrita Rao. Numerous ads, ten and odd films and a huge fan base, in a span of ten years stands testimony to this.

A Peek into the Past
Amrita Rao’s birthday is on the 7th of June. She was born in 1981 in Mumbai. Her father is Deepak Rao who runs an advertising agency. Her mother tongue is Konkani.

She studied at C.G. High School and later graduated with a degree in Psychology from Sophia College.

Besides working in ads and films, Amrita has to her credit the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. She is also the muse of the bare-footed artist M.F.Hussain.

The Face That Launched Many Ads
Her first brush with the cameras was when she worked in the Fairever Face Cream ad while still in college. It was followed by Nestle Bru Coffee, Cadbury’s Perk, Close-Up, Parachute Hair Oil, Domino’s Pizza, Wriggly’s Chewing Gum, Pantene, and Clean & Clear facewash, to name a few. She’s also the brand ambassador for D’Damas gold jewelry. It was hardly surprising that she was noticed by Ken Ghosh who offered her a role in Ishq Vishq.

Rao may appear with Shahid in a PETA campaign.

New Roles
Amrita’s debut was with Raj Babbar’s son, Arya Babbar, in Ab Ke Baras which released in 2002 followed by a cameo in The Legend of Bhagat Singh. She shot to stardom in 2003 with the release of Ishq Vishq with Shahid Kapoor, and she won a nomination for the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her role as struck-by-cupid Payal Mehra.

In 2004, she was part of the multi-starrer Main Hoon Na with Shah Rukh Khan, Zayed Khan, and Sushmita Sen. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Her films in 2005, Vaah! Life Ho Tho Aisi and Shikhar didn’t get a good reception at the box office. Vivah in 2006, with Shahid Kapoor, became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year.

Bollywood didn’t see a lot of Amrita Rao in 2007, except for a brief appearance in a song in Heyy Babyy. She did a Telugu film Athidhi with Mahesh Babu, which was a big success down south.

Her 2008 releases include My Name is Anthony Gonsalves with Mithun Chakraborthy, Lilette Dubey, and Nikhil Dwivedi which didn’t do well. Her performance as Kamala in Shyam Benegal’s comedy Welcome to Sajjanpur was praised and the film enjoyed rave reviews.

In 2009, she was seen opposite Harman Baweja in Victory which was not so victorious at the box office. She traded in her sweet image for a more glamorous one in Shortkut: The Con is One. However, even this movie didn’t do well.

Fans can expect to see Rao in Hook Ya Crook (2010) with John Abraham and Genelia D’Souza, as well as Kunal Avadana (2010) with Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Rampal.

Amisha Patel is a Gemini born on 9th June 1976 in Mumbai. Her parents are Amit Patel and Asha Patel. Actor Ashmit Patel is her brother. She is the grand-daughter of lawyer-politician Rajni Patel, who was also the Congress Committee President, Mumbai.

Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan was born on the 30th November 1960 to a Nawab family in Jaipur, India.

The movie starred Angelina Jolie and Irrfan Khan as Javid Habib who is helping in the investigations of the journalist’s disappearance.

He was part of Anurag Basu’s Life in a Metro (2007) that won him the Best Supporting Actor Award. He worked with director Mira Nair and actress Tabu in The Namesake (2007), an adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri’s book by the same name. He won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his performance as Ashok Ganguly.

Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008)about the Mumbai train bombings in 2006 saw him as Thomas, a coffee vendor. The movie opened to positive reviews.

Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire (2009) won several awards internationally. He played a police inspector investigating a possible fraud when a boy from the slums wins on the television show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

His other releases in 2009 are Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra’s Delhi 6; Billu Barber with Shah Rukh Khan, based on the story of Krishna and Sudhama and New York about the 9/11 terrorist attack.
